Ashe Family History
The Ashe family has been part of racing at Skagit Speedway since it open.

Bud and Chuck's Father, Big Bud, grew up less than a mile from Skagit.  He help clear the land  that Skagit Speedway now sits on.  He started working at Skagit picking up garbage in the stands after every race. Big Bud started packing the track for Jim Rarper when he was 15. When he was 17 he got his first car. In 1965, he joined the Army, and he drove back east while he was in the military.

When he came home to the Skagit Valley, He continued driving his own car at Skagit, Sky Valley, and Elma. Bud and Brenda met at Skagit where her brother also raced. Bud retired from driving in 1975, but was never far from the track.

In 1993, Big Bud, Chuck and Bud "light" bought their first car. Big Bud became the crew chief for Chuck and Bud "light" who shared the driving time for the first three years. At that time Chuck choose to take some time off from racing. Bud Light started driving full time. In 2000, a second car was purchased, with the return of Chuck to driving full time and forming the 2-car team of Ashe Family Racing.
